Resource-rich Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is a resource-rich country, producing precious stones such as blue sapphires and rubies, as well as high-quality raw materials such as ball clay, kaolinite, and quartz, which are essential for ceramic products.
The know-how for producing ceramic products is also well established. A Japanese high-end ceramic manufacturer has had a factory in Sri Lanka for about 50 years and has played an important role in the industry, so the awareness of ceramic products is high throughout the country, and many carefully finished products can be seen.
Close to Europe
I have briefly introduced the materials, production system and basic aspects of making ceramic products, but even in terms of design, which is a major factor when we consider purchasing products, the company has the conditions in place to flexibly incorporate trends.
Located south of India, Sri Lanka is geographically located such that ships can reach Europe in just over two weeks by sea, and many of its factories do business with companies in European countries, making it well placed to absorb Western trends.
Art Decoration International, which is sold at sitta / curation store, also does business with brands that lead global trends, such as the German cafe chain Tchibo, H&M Home, the British gardening retailer Country Baskets, and Zaha Hadid Designs UK, and works with design teams from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and other countries to always create products with designs that are in line with the times.
